(INTELLIHUB) — Texas representative Louie Gohmert questioned the involvement of undercover federal agents in connection with the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol during his allotted time on the House of Representatives floor last Thursday.
The 67-year-old former attorney said that the FBI provided no intelligence information to capitol police ahead of time even though agents were embedded in upper leadership positions in at least three extremist groups.
Moreover, the Republican from Texas questions why the National Guard was called off from protecting the capitol building that day. Gohmert also questions how many informants were involved and what was their level of participation in the insurrection.
“The American people will never learn the most important truth about what January 6th is and what kind of country they are really living in,” said Gohmert, reading from a report. “It turns out the federal government did, in fact, have undercover agents or confidential informants embedded within the so-called militia groups indicted for conspiring to obstruct the Senate certification on January 6th. The implications would be nothing more than siesmic, especially if such agents or informants enjoyed extremely senior level positions within such groups.”
“It disturbs me greatly that there was not more information forthcoming from our federal law enforcement, intelligence, DoJ, that was received here on Capitol Hill,” he said. “Because surely if they had known the level of planning by a small group to actually comit violence and break in to our U.S. Capitol then they would have been better prepared.”
Gohmert also stated that if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had had more intel on federal agencies, she would surely not have turned down National Guard support on January 6th.
Gohmert likened the FBI’s actions to the actions of Russian President Vladamir Putin, exposing the false flag operation.
