Coincidentally, Cobb County police were holding a mock active shooter drill on Wednesday when calls of an active shooting at a midtown medical facility flooded into the 9-1-1 call center.
Police are currently with the suspect’s mother in an attempt to learn more about the senseless shooting that left one person dead and four others injured.
Reports say that several gunshots rang out on the 11th floor of Northside Medical, where the carnage took place.
Police have named Deion Patterson, 24, the suspect still at large.
Special Weapons and Tactics units are on the scene searching for the perpetrator.
