NASA quietly posted data to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory small-body database that shows an asteroid larger than twenty-four African elephants has a chance of striking Earth on March 25, 2023.
The 230-foot-wide chunk of rock is headed in rather hot, at a speed of over 18,000 miles per hour, and has likely prompted some in the know to pull out funds and check off any remaining items on their bucket list in the coming days in case.
Asteroid 2023 DZ2 was discovered on February 27, 2023, sending analysts into a frenzy to solve its trajectory.

JPL scientists on March 16 calculated 2023 DZ2’s close approach and listed its condition number as a nine on the risk list, meaning that its trajectory is uncertain and an impact event can occur. The simulation data shows the asteroid safely passing between the Earth and the Moon. However, that can all change.

World News Report Today’s James Coffman reported Thursday evening that the object is “perhaps a country killer.”
“It’s moving at 17.9 kilometers per second, which is right around 18,000 miles per hour,” stated Coffman. “It’s well over 70 meters. Well over 230 feet in diameter.”

“We are going to have a very close shave on the 25th,” explained the YouTuber.
Scientists conducted 31 observations of the inbound asteroid in two days before reaching its resolution.
“This is the largest rock I have seen come this close to Earth in the entire fourteen years I have been looking at this,” he said. “And what’s so strange is that they have known this information for two weeks, and, ladies and gentlemen, they’ve released it with no further information at a condition code of nine.”
“You can’t get any worse” than a condition code nine, said Coffman. “This sucker is inbound… they need to figure out how to present it to the public.”
NASA has known this information for several weeks but has failed to inform the general public, raising more red flags.
The European Space Agency Near-Earth Object Coordination Centre has listed the menacing object in the “priority risk” list.
