President Joe Biden is the grist for the gossip mill after his legal team discovered an extra stash of classified documents bearing classified markings.
The disgraced president had the documents during his tenure as Vice President during the Obama Administration and hid them away.
Vice presidents are not authorized to classify and declassify documents, which means Biden could be looking at impeachment or even criminal prosecution.
In the case of former President Donald J. Trump’s spat with declassified documents, nothing came of the situation because sitting presidents have the authority to classify and declassify documents.
Bluntly put, Biden is in hot water, and the press is beginning to ask questions.
White House Press Secretary Jean Pierre said in a statement that she is limited on what she can say about the situation for obvious legal reasons.
“As my colleagues in the Counsel have stated and said to all of you yesterday, this is an ongoing process under the review of the Department of Justice,” said Pierre. “So we are going to be limited on what we can say here.”
The White House Justice Department has failed to comment on the situation but appears to be reviewing classified documents found at the Penn Biden Center to see if Biden broke any laws.
Republicans are up in arms about the situation and have called for an inquiry into damages U.S. intelligence might have suffered from the mishandling of sensitive information.
Over and above that, YouTuber Timcast said on his show on Wednesday that when Donald Trump was found to have declassified documents, the press called for his arrest. Still, no one says anything when Biden is found with classified documents.
GOP Rep. James Comer told CBS News on Wednesday that another cover-up is in effect because the media is not asking real questions.
“Who has which documents, and what level of classification are we talking about here?” the republican from Kentucky questioned. “How many documents, and what is the decision to raid Mar-a-Lago versus the decision to do nothing with President Biden?”
Rep. Comer said that the GOP requests a fair inquiry into the matter but is unsure if an investigation will occur.
“Mistakes happen,” said Comer. “I get it.”
In the past, Comer has accused the Justice Department of being corrupt.
In response to the fallout, Biden turned his back and walked away from hostile journalists on Thursday during a presser.
