(INTELLIHUB) — When DNC staffer Seth Rich was murdered in 2016, the mainstream press reported that his death might have stemmed from a botched robbery in which nothing was taken, but the newly released FBI files on Rich allude to something different.
According to the FBI files, top officials from the Department of Justice met to discuss why Rich may have been gunned down in front of his D.C. home while walking back from a local bar intoxicated.
The files suggest that someone may have paid for Rich’s murder, even though the mainline press denied any allegations of such a scenario. Not to mention, someone took Rich’s laptop after his death.
Attorneys have now requested over one thousand FBI documents about the matter, but it is unknown if the bureau will comply with the requests.
Additionally, it is important to note that Roger Stone and Dr. Jerome Corsi’s names also appear in the files. The FBI appears to have been concerned with Stones’ conversations with Republican campaign consultant Paul Manafort and Corsi’s potential contact with Wikileaks frontman Julian Assange. Agents with the bureau searched Corsi’s computers.
