Atomic scientists on Tuesday moved the prophetic Doomsday Clock to the position of 90 seconds til midnight, signifying that the end of our existence might be near.
The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists uses the Doomsday Clock to illustrate how close we are to a total disaster.
Since the project’s genesis in 1947, the hands of the clock were at most set to 17 minutes out. Today the hands of time are set the closest ever to Doomsday, just 90 seconds out.
The current focus of the problem is the conflict in Ukraine, at least one speaker from the group said.
